Thursday - REST DAY

Rest days are for RECOVERY.....period!
Make sure you rest.  We had a very strong and challenging 3 day cycle.  Limit inflammatory foods and cut the sugar.  Drink plenty of fluids.  A pinch of Sea Salt in the water bottle will help keep nutrients in the body where they belong as opposed to stripping the body of needed nutrients, vitamins and minerals.  Take your Fish Oil regularly (3to5 grams of EPA & DHA).  Use Foam Rolling Methods, Lacrosse Ball, Massage Therapy as well as hip and shoulder mobility work.  Keep the joints open and they will recover better.  Open muscle fibers that hold pain.  Find the pain, stay on it for 3to5 seconds and then move through it from multiple directions with your pressure object (roller, ball, etc...).  Ice if needed.  If possible, try to avoid NSAIM (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Medication) such as Motrin, Advil, Aleve, Tylenol.  Stick to standard Bayer Aspirin if something is needed.  NSAIM's have been shown to affect resiliancy factors related to muscles and tendons.  Simply put, it may increase the opportunity for tissue (muscles, tendons)  to become tough thereby creating a tendency to strain, pull or even tear.

Enjoy the rest.  See you Friday!

Stay strong!
