Today being November 9th is the official end of our 30-Day Paleo Challenge. Continue to keep your nutritional lifestyle evolving towards FIT even though the challenge is officially over. We will weigh in on Thursday. Moving forward, if you're eating in long unhealthy streaks or just simply convincing yourself that what you're doing is "good enough", think again. Give it the additional thought, then take a positive action beyond "good enough" and step towards "better". Always shoot for "best" in your daily efforts. Not only in nutrition, but in life. You should be proud of yourselves. The athletic effort you put forth makes a huge impression on those around you. Your children already have positive thoughts of their CrossFitting Mom or Dad. My memories of my father are great, but my knowledge of him as an athlete were all but memories by the time he was out of the Army in 1956. It doesn't change the love I have for him, but I hope and pray everyday that his body can somehow fend off all the poor nutrition that he subjects his body to daily at age 76. I know, he's 76, he'll never change....but he could, and he should. My Mother died at age 62 due to complications stemming from lung cancer. She smoked for 30 years and then quit when her first grandchild was born. She retired at the age of 60 and was diagnosed shortly after with non-small cell lung cancer. Smoking was the obvious element leading to her disease. You see examples in your life. Some have positive outcomes and others veer off into the other end of the spectrum, just plain bad. The point is, that no matter what the outcome, the impressions last forever. You learn from them, and yes they somehow make you stronger. Take a look at your family tree. What seems to be patternistic about the way your family lives or lived? Apply the changes where you can to break the cycle if at all possible. Do your best to make solid impressions. Be able to look at yourself in the mirror every day if possible and have the ability to call bullshit on yourself if you know you're taking shortcuts. Then take the proper measures to change for the better. We're all good and we're all getting better. Better at functional movement, better at driving up the intensity level and better at preparing for the unknown and unknow-able. Keep up the good work and keep putting forth your very best. It is a true pleasure to coach you guys.
Stay strong!
