Psychological Masturbation

I saw this term and couldn't help but comment on it... I wish I was clever enough to come up with it, but I mostly steal and modify ideas. I honestly don't know when the last time I had an original thought cross my mind was!

It is from Blair Morrison, out of Sacramento, CA. What it really is referring to is the act of making excuses for it to be acceptable for one not to be fit. There is no doubt that some of us have busier schedules than others, and it can lend itself to us not taking care of our bodies. However, the bottom line is that if not staying healthy is due to an outside circumstance, well, then we are merely psychologically masturbating. It feels good to have a reason to treat yourself like shit. Why does a busy schedule or stressful day warrant us to allow the onset of decrepitude? No matter what the stress is, we all deserve to treat ourselves to not being winded when we walk across the parking lot. We all deserve the chance to deadlift a toddler off the ground when we are 85 years old. We all deserve the chance to not have to eat pudding and watch Oprah Winfrey re-runs in the nursing home because we can't take care of ourselves anymore.

Do not psycholigically masturbate and sacrifice your health... if not for yourself then do it for the loved one's around you. Do the real thing, get fit. Be healthy... we all deserve it.
